主讲人简介：

Henry T. (Hank) Edmondson III, Ph.D. is Carl Vinson Chair of Political Science & Public Administration in the Department of Government, Georgia College and is the Director of the Center for Transatlantic Studies. He obtained his doctorate from the University of Georgia where he studied under the late Eugene F. Miller who, at the University of Chicago, was a student of Leo Strauss and Friedrich Hayek. Among his publications are The Moral of the Story: Literature and Public Ethics (2002), Return to Good and Evil: Flannery O’Connor’s Response to Nihilism (2005), John Dewey and the Decline of American Education (2006), and the forthcoming A Political Companion to Flannery O’Connor (University of Kentucky Press, Spring 2017). Other books underway are Shakespeare and the Public Service; Imagining Europe: Essays on the European Union; and The Course of Human Events: American Government for the 21st Century.

He has directed study abroad programs for the University System of Georgia for 20 years in over a dozen different European countries; and, beginning in May of 2017 will teach a course entitled “Power, Politics and Tolkien” in Christchurch, New Zealand. He has lectured widely, including at Oxford University, the University of Glasgow, the University of Edinburgh, the University of Madrid and the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. He has consulted widely on questions of education reform.
