【专家简介】韦恩·J·厄本（Wayne J. Urban），阿拉巴马大学教育政策中心荣休教授、副主任。曾任美国教育史协会（History of Education Society）主席、美国教育研究协会（the American Educational Studies Association）主席、教育史国际常设会（International Standing Conference for the History of Education）主席；《教育史季刊》（History of Education Quarterly）副主编，《教育史研究》（Historical Studies in Education）与《教育历史评论》（History of Education Review）编委。研究专长为美国教育史、教师史、全国教育协会史。著有：《美国教育：一部历史档案》（American Education: A History）、《美国教育史上的领军人物》（Leaders in the History of American Education）、《教师为什么要组织起来？》（Why Teachers Organized？）、《性别、种族与全国教育协会：例外论及其限度》（Gender Race and the National Education Association: Exceptionalism and Its Limitations），等等。
