“A Western Perspective on Environmental Education”

 主讲教授:美国阿拉斯加大学 Gerald McBeath 教授

 McBeath教授1963年芝加哥大学毕业,1970年在加州大学伯克利分校获得政治学博士学位,是美国的长期从事环境政治学和环境政策研究,以及中国大陆、中国台湾环境外交政治等研究的著名学者。McBeath教授开展环境教育的特点,主要是从政治学维度入手,以西方文化的视角开展环境教育研究,进行环境教育课程的讲授。

IV. Ideological and philosophical positions on Environmental Education, critical assessment of DWW (dominant Western world view) 

a. Anthropocentric, both Western and Third World

c. Eco-centric (the critical deep ecology literature)

V. Student papers/presentation on philosophical/ethical positions,Controversy concerning radical (eco-centric, deep ecology) approaches to EE, ESD  as opposed to the status quo
